Brazed & Welded Assemblies of a Steam Boiler Level Probe for the Oil & Gas Industry
Oil and Gas
INTA Technologies has a strong foundation in the research and development of many technologies used in ceramic metallization and brazing applications. Our expertise in manufacturing engineering and materials sciences combine to foster innovation and contribute to the success of each of our customers.
The level probe pictured here was designed for use in an steam boiler system. Our project team met with the customer and together we co-engineered this part to not only perform reliably in the harsh conditions of an oil and gas industry application, but to also streamline its manufacture.
Materials of construction included stainless steel, notoriously difficult to machine exotic nickel alloys, as well as ceramic. After machining the components, we cleaned them and executed an active metal brazing process, which eliminates the need for heat treating and plating of the metallized component. Serialization by laser marking completed the assembly. Throughout the process, we maintained precise ±.001" tolerances required. Further validation was provided with helium leak testing.
INTA continues to supply these components at the rate of 500-1,000 units per year. Our streamlined manufacturing and contribution to the design engineering enabled us to form a strong bond with this customer, and our valued partnership is a key to ongoing success for us both.
