What size items does INTA usually plate?

INTA usually plates items that are smaller than 12” in length or diameter.

What is the largest item INTA can plate with the current set up?

Approximately 12-18” long items.

Can INTA plate tiny parts?

Yes, INTA frequently plates very small parts.  Some parts are as thin as 0.005”

How small is too small?

If a part is microscopic, it is too small for INTA to plate.  Aspect ratio is important.  If a part is very thin and long and made of a fragile material INTA may not wish to plate the item.

Are large items more expensive to plate?
Yes, in most cases.

What is an average thickness specification?

Plating thickness is not related to part size in most cases.  Typical plating thicknesses range from .5 micron to 250 microns.  The average plating thickness is about 2-5 microns but it really depends on many factors such as material, surface finish, application, use environment, etc.
