What type of glass to metal seals does INTA manufacture?

INTA Technologies Corporation specializes in glass to metal feedthrus under the tutelage of Dr. Nutan Bhiwandker, Material Scientist. INTA manufactures vacuum tight connectors using glass as an insulator. The glass connects a metal housing and metal pins. The number of pins ranges 1-100+.

What type of glass is used?

Special glass is used.  Glass-to-metal seals are commonly used for feedthru’s.  One typical glass used by INTA is alkali barium silicate glass (another is borosilicate) which is a lead free compression sealing glass manufactured by Schott.

What is the typical lead time for glass-to-metal sealing services?

Lead times depend on several factors, such as material lead times and amount of fixturing and/or tooling required.  If the customer supplies the material, the lead time is often 1-2 weeks.  If INTA Technologies supplies the materials, it will likely add several weeks to the lead time.  Tooling and fixtures for proper glass-to-metal seals are often required.
